DIY Timelapse Circuit For Point-and-shoot Cameras

DIY Timelapse Circuit For Point-and-shoot Cameras

Many expensive cameras offer a remote shutter release feature, but most point-and-shoot cameras don't. Of course, if you have good DIY skills, you can probably fix that, and that's what someone out there decided to do, hacking together some hardware, adding the ability to turn the camera on, shoot a picture, and turn the camera back off. The hardware added allowed for additional capabilities such as changing the length of time between shots and automatically shutting down when it gets too dark to continue shooting. The schematics and the board layouts have been posted online, in case you're planning on recreating this during your free time this weekend.
