This week on the web

Boston Sitniks

It was another busy week here at Opera HQ: not only did we revamp parts of our website and buy a hockey team, and start our annual holiday counter countdown, but we also announced a partnership with semiconductor maker Mediatek which will put Opera Mini on more feature phones, especially in up-and-coming markets in Asia. Here's to Opera making the mobile world go round!

Meanwhile, as we headed into the final calendar month of 2011, the traditional year-end roundups began to appear on the Web. Facebook revealed its most-shared articles of the year: starting with the earthquake in Japan, ending with Steve Jobs' patents, and encompassing everything from income disparity to laughing infants ripping paper in between... Twitter had its own set of stories to share, a mix of news stories such as the popular democracy movements around the world along with personal stories that had a social-media angle.

Speaking of sharing: let us know if you have an Opera story to tell! Was there a situation this year where the browser came to your rescue? Send me a message and I'll put together a special post of Opera Moments.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

:)
