It's Friday the 13th, everybody, and you know what that means... you guessed it - address field adjustments! This is just one of the many functions we are tweaking and improving for the next release of Opera. Soon it will be even easier for you to get to the content you need online, not to mention find new friends on Facebook.
As for any other meanings associated with Friday the 13th, take our advice and don't bother avoiding black cats, ladders or shifty guys in hockey masks... just hold still and pucker up, because it's National Kiss Day (not to be confused with National Kissing Day, which happens on July 6), at least according to Twitter - though "national" in what country, we're not quite sure...
In a completely unrelated development - that is, unless you really like seafood - researchers in Japan announced some early successes with crab-based information processing. In an effort to push the frontiers of biological computing, the scientists had the crabs form little crab crowds which ran into one another, dispersed, and then either kept going or switched direction. The idea is that the crabs' behavior models the idea of logic gates, otherwise known as the famous Boolean "AND/OR." (Good thing they were using crabs and not humans - people in crowds are anything but logical!)
Speaking of logical choices, legions of vloggers, filmmakers, musicians and other content creators rejoiced this week when YouTube announced it would make its partner program available more widely. Are you going to jump on this particular bandwagon?
Last but not least, one of the week's most popular photos circulating online was of a leopard in South Africa with all the usual spots, but with the unusual addition of a pink tinge to his coat. Now that's an internet cat of a different color...
